Ah, the scent of brine and salt.

Today was our last day by the sea before we head into the Loire Valley. We saw Mont Saint-Michel and Saint Malô, a fortified city with big walls and ramparts and everything.

(this second one isn’t actually Saint Malô, it’s a little fortress you can see from the city wall)

It was, as you can see, very foggy and wet this day, but it really only rained once. The rest of the time there was this pervasive, cool, fine mist (cool as in awesome and fine as in not thick). I wasn’t actually able to see much of Saint Malô however because we only had an hour there and I spent 45 of my 60 minutes making copies (thank you two years of experience at Cougar Creations).

(the money in the foreground is ten-centime pieces because each copy was ten centimes, and as you can see from the stack of papers, I had a lot of copies to make…one. at. a. time.)

The coolest part may have been the “biscotterie,” which, as you may have already guessed, is where they make cookies! More specifically, they make the cookies that Mont Saint-Michel is famous for, which were really good (they had free samples. I may have taken three, or four, or maybe six. Broken pieces don’t count, right?). However, they had other stuff for sale there as well. Fun, no? I’m thinking about a new picture heading, what do you think?
